Description: This fabric’s motif is an excellent example of how one drawing can adopt varying names and meanings. In Nigeria, the design is simply known as Eyes, a name inspired by the eye drawing. In Ivory Coast, this popular design is called L’Oeil de Boeuf, translated as bull’s eye. But it is also known as Lisu ya Pité, meaning ‘lustful eye’. It is worn by a woman to show a man that she desires him. Appeared more than 200 years ago, our classic Wax printed fabrics are highly contemporary and a very powerful cross-cultural symbol. Care instructions: Wash your fabric inside out using mild soap. Avoid detergent and powdered soap as much as possible. Do not bleach and don’t dry your fabric to direct sunlight. Tumble dry low and iron your fabric inside out at a temperature under 200°. Do not dry clean.
